Greg was such an extraordinary person. He was just 3 years old when he developed spinal meningitis.
We even lost him a few times but thanks to the doctors and medics we were giving another great 16
years with him. He was smart and funny with a magnetic personality. I knew he was special from
the get go. As younger kids, him only 2 years my junior, we went to the same daycare. He loved
telling stories to the younger kids. What an imagination he had. And as teenagers we went to
concerts. With him having a little twist in his walk, other concert goers at a Stevie Ray Vaughn
concert let us all the way past them to the stage. We could have reached out and touched Stevie –
Greg had a blast and it made me happy to see him happy. They said he was my cousin – I say he was
my best friend. Words cannot express how much I miss him. Greg, I know you’re watching me
because I feel your presence daily. I Love You So Much!!!

I know I am still with you
in your prayers, your thoughts, your heart
And though you cannot see me,
I will always be a part
of life's sweet celebrations
in those times when you reflect
on how, though things are different,
through our love, we still connect.
We'll see each other someday
when our spirits all are free,
until then, I am with you
because you remember me.
UNKNOWN
I was walkin' in Savanah,
past a church decayed and dim,
When softly tru the window,
came a plaintiff funeral hymn.
Up front sat a couple
in sorrow nearly wild,
On the alter sat a coffin -
in the coffin was a child!
Arose a sad old Negro preacher
from his little wooden desk
With a manner slightly awkward
and his countenance grotesque.
And he said, "Now don't ya'll go a weepin
for this little bit of clay;
The little boy who liv there
he done and gone away!
He's doin' very finely an he
'preciates your love.
But his shore-nuff Father
want him in His big house up above.
Now, the Lord, He didn't give you that chile
by a hunerd thousan miles
He jus think you need some sunshine,
So He loaned him for a'while;
And He let you love and keep him,
'til your hearts had stronger grown;
And He was sad and lonely
so He call him home.
So my sad dejected morners, let you're
hearts with Jesus rest,
And don't go critizin'
The One who knows the best.
He will comfort and strengthen
and keep your heart from sin,
Now bow your heads
and let us pray, AMEN!!!!
